Crafted Series Beer Making Kit: Brew 23 L of Craft Beer at Home

Want to brew your own beer without a complicated all-grain setup? The Crafted Series Beer Making Kit is one of our most popular products. It's a simple malt extract kit that makes about 23 L of craft-style beer, in the style you like best.

Pick your style

The kit comes in a range of classic styles, so there's one for every taste:

  • Light and crisp: pilsner light, blonde lager, wheat, draught
  • Hoppy: bitter IPA, pale ale
  • Malty and rich: amber ale, brown ale, Irish red ale
  • Dark: stout

What's in the kit

  • 1.8 kg (3.9 lb) Crafted Series malt extract blend
  • Hop extract for balanced bitterness
  • A brewing yeast sachet

Brewing equipment, a fermenter, bottles, sanitizer and other supplies are sold separately. The kit contains barley.

How it works, in three steps

1. Mix

Dissolve the malt extract in warm water, then top up to the full batch volume in your clean, sanitized fermenter.

2. Ferment

Add the yeast and let fermentation finish, usually about 7 to 10 days.

3. Bottle and condition

Bottle your beer, then give it 2 to 3 weeks for natural carbonation and conditioning before you drink it. Many brewers add a measured amount of dextrose (corn sugar) at bottling for carbonation; follow your kit's instructions for the amount.

Tips from the brew room

  • Sanitize everything. Clean beer is great beer. Wash and sanitize your fermenter, bottles and tools with B-Brite before you start.
  • Be patient at bottling. Make sure fermentation has finished before you bottle. Bottling too early can over-carbonate your beer.
  • Let it condition. Those 2 to 3 weeks in the bottle make a real difference to flavour and fizz.
