Pinot Noir has a reputation as the elegant red: lighter on its feet than Cabernet, but full of flavour. The Crafted Series Pinot Noir 11.5% Medium-Bodied Red Winemaking Kit is one of our best-selling reds. It's made in Canada and ready in about four weeks.
What it tastes like
Expect a balanced, medium-bodied red with ripe red berries and sweet black cherry, plus the earthy mushroom and forest-floor notes Pinot Noir is known for. It's smooth and food-friendly, a red that even white wine drinkers tend to enjoy.

Tips for a better Pinot Noir
- Start clean. Wash and sanitize all your equipment with B-Brite cleaner. Pinot's delicate aromas show any off-flavours.
- Keep it steady. Ferment at a steady room temperature, away from heat vents and sunlight.
- Don't rush clearing. Give the fining agents time to work so your Pinot bottles bright and clear.
- Serve it slightly cool. A light chill, just below room temperature, lifts the red fruit.
Food pairings
Pinot Noir is famous for matching a wide range of dishes. Try it with grilled salmon and mushroom risotto, or with roast chicken, turkey, duck or pork tenderloin. See our guide to red wines for more ideas.
